Lets play with wool.

Winter means crochet!!

well anytime means crochet to be fair!
I've always got something crochet or knitting related on the go, at least a couple at a time!

Over Christmas I worked on the yuletide from Attic24, loved this one, well in the end I did, when I first saw the sneak peaks of it, it didn't take my fancy but it grew on me and in the end I succumbed and ordered and really enjoyed making it, would like to go again with different colour ways too.

I have worked on a few baby blankets over the last few months too, leftovers and odd balls of wool, nice to work on smaller projects and quick finishes too.

and of course socks, I love making my socks, when I asked my sun in law what he wanted for Christmas the answer was nothing, don't worry about me which quickly changed to oh actually some of your socks please, soon sorted that out and he was very pleased with them too!

these are my quick 2 needle sock pattern design, cause I cant stand using more than 2 needles or circular needles so I made me own design up, this is my hand spun pair,
mmm love them!

February 2022
Christmas 2021 is done and gone thank goodness, January 2022 is done and gone thank goodness,
not much to say about January, depression, as always, not much sewing!

I find it hard in the dark months of the new year to do much at all apart from wish them away, the bag which I love was made during December then the machine was put away for the holidays and didn't come out again until last week, 20the January when I made these notebooks, one for an order, that made me get the machine out!! and lovely project broke the  no sew time!!
love making these notebooks and just ending up where I end up.

I did then go on to make a new design bag which I will post about separately.
for now I am in countdown for the retreat, moved and moved again to February 19th, 18 days and counting, think I like it this time of year, something to look forward to and get me through the dark days of these couple of months!!
bring it on!!

I did two new designs for this Christmas, the first was the table centre which could be a wall hanging, a tree mat or a cushion as well as the table centre, with just a little bit of tweaking it works for all four, really enjoyed this. and loved doing some free motion quilting too not done so much recently.

the second design were this gorgeous gift bag set, adding some bling to the designs with little wooden hangers, ribbons and bells, a fun set to make and to give away or keep for years to come, could be part of your yearly decorations.

loving the fabrics from both projects, wish i had more lol

Oh i am really rubbish at keeping my blog up to date, i don't know how i had time to go to work 40 to 50 hours a week, i seemed to be more organised then, oh and having the hour or so first thing in the morning to blog maybe what kept this going. maybe i need to set myself a timetable of what to do when, that would help me out now, maybe that should be a new years goal, to get organised!!
mmm need to think about this.
my journaling seems to have lost its spot as well at the minute although that's because I'm just not organised in the craft room, a reorganise is on the cards.
and then maybe a timetable of what to do when would be good. as sewing is my business i feel that i should devote all my time to that and feel guilty if i don't but surely i need to give some of my time to the other things i enjoy too, see a timetable may be in order.

but i need to bring things up to date in here, last time i blogged it was July, although that seems like yesterday, its now November!! whoops!!

so what's been happening since July?

Well

and i think these are in the wrong order......

Polly came to stay, was meant to be a 4 dayer but it ended up just one night but we managed to get some sewing in and spend some time together, it was over all too quickly as it always is!!

i have been doing the vintage market all year which has been lovely, just once a month on a Sunday, love doing the markets, this is from the 1940's weekend they had in the park, only did the Sunday but it was an amazing day, back to its proper spot in May for 2022 so will be doing both days for that one, looks to be a great event.

we formed a crochet group, our first meet up was in the country park, we have since moved to hill top farm where we meet have lunch and crochet, always get comments from other people that are there.  just a small little group, Gemma, Elaine, Allison, Dawn and myself

sewing wise i have done quite a lot, one being the printing workshop, not that the full workshop has happened yet bt Elaine and Gemma did try this out for me, a lovely afternoon.

we haven't managed to have our retreat yet but this is now booked for February WOOHOO, cant wait!
we have had a couple of meetups though, Susan, Ann, Ben Barb and myself.
miss spending time with these guys so looking forward to February.

just a few of the projects i have been working on since July, there have been many, i will do a separate post for the Christmas projects.

some new notebook cover designs, plus bag fabrics, they change so quickly as i run out of fabrics,

some crocheting and wool spinning using drop spindles that Niall made for me, love this!

we also did a crochet along doing the grace blanket, all the colours are gorgeous, we all did something different, must get some photo's of all the colours together.

so a little catch up from July to about October.

Another couple of remakes in new fabrics,

the hobby bag and the medium drawstring tote, both popular bags that i have had to remake with new fabrics.

the hobby bag is a great size for the smaller craft project, or for a take out bag.

i use mine for all my sewing threads, so when i go out i just pick it up and go.

Lets Sew It

this gorgeous little drawstring tote, i just love this one,  can be used as a hand bag, a lunch bag, its great for whatever you need, just love it, this also comes in a ballerina fabric for the little girls.

New fabric remakes for these designs.
a very popular design.
i have so many of these project bags, great for out and about not just crafting although i use them for crochet projects so i can leave then in the bag until the item is finished.

available to buy in kit form from Lets Sew It

i also revisited this workshop from a few years ago, new sewing machine, get to have a go with all those wonderful stitches, this is the perfect project to do that.
