1940's Weekend

A busy weekend at the 1940'sweekend in Melton Mowbray,
and beautiful weather to go with it, Saturday being the better day but Sunday the rain held off until pack up time.
thanks to everyone that came and supported me and hope you had a great time with all that was going on, a  fabulous event.

I didn't get chance to take pictures of some of my makes,
the peg bags, right in my top picture just went.... all gone!!
all my bags....gone, union jack cushions and bunting...gone.
I have a big to do list now.

loving the peach fabric below, a couple of my new fabrics of which there are quite a few, all on the list for future makes and kits, keeping watching.

Sewing Bag, On the Go.

On the go sewing bag
oh my I love this fabric and I love this bag, a gal can never have too many bags, I wish I could find a crochet or wool fabrics, that would be just perfect!!

I like to go out and about with my sewing or crochet, this bag is just perfect for an outing to meet friends for lunch and an hour or two's craftiness!
its big enough to fit some hand sewing, my hexie cushion cover for one thing, or a couple of balls and a hook for some crochet granny squares.

my squares are fussy cut a little, just to get some of them with a full sewing machine on but not all, some quilting, 1/4 inch on either side of my seams makes a great stitch detail.
and a hand made little tag just finishes it off nicely!

lined with some bright pink to pick out the pink from the outer fabric plus I like to line things with lighter colours, much easier to find things lol

Time To Create

Time to create
Myself and a group of crafty friends go on a sewing retreat every year, of course that hasn't been possible the past couple of years, but finally last week we managed it, well most of us, an injury resulting from a fall, kept one member in hospital, but she did manage a couple of visits later in the week.
it is a time to relax, spend time with friends, enjoy being creative without interruptions.
a great time, sewing during the day, crochet in the evening in front of the telly, bliss!!

I didn't think I got much done but I suppose I did really, a quilt topper, four bags( one already gone to its new home) finished my felted notebook cover and evenings working on my harbour blanket.

and as a group, that's quite some creativity going on there, notice 3 harbour blankets being worked on lol

so planning begins for the next one, bring it on.
